March 1 the National Development and Reform Commission has agreed in principle to adjust the Suzhou Urban Rail Transit Phase III Construction plan (2018-2023) (hereafter is called the Plan) for a perfection of multilevel rail transit network and supporting for better city development. During the construction, Suzhou Government and related District Government will contribute RMB 5.162 billion, which is more than 40% of the total investment. The remaining funds will be solved by market-oriented financing methods such as domestic bank loans.

The major adjustment is to extend the project in the north of line no.2, no.4 and no.7. Line No.2 starts from Aigehao Road Station and ends in Qihe Station. The total length of the line is 4.72km and is underground, its investment is RMB3.267 billion, and RMB2.248 billion are direct engineering investment. The extension part in the north of Line No. 4 starts from Guantang Road Station and its direct engineering investment is RMB3.246 billion. The extension part in the north of Line No.7 starts from Chunfeng Road Station and ends in Moyang Station, of total length 7.44km. It is an underground line. The investment is RMB5.096 billion and the direct engineering investment is RMB3.18 billion.
